Thank you for your calls and emails over the last few days! We were told that YOU made THE difference!

Please, take a moment now to make another round of emails or calls.

The Naturopathic Doctor Registration Bill is about to go to the Senate Floor for their vote! The calls and emails you make today will impact how this bill is passed.

Call and Write as many of the 67 Senators as you can. Tell the Senators you want to Keep the "Vickerman Amendment” as it came out of the Senate Finance Committee today. Tell the Senators you will only Support the bill without further new amendments introduced on the floor – unless the new amendments are accepted by Senator Vickerman.

Start by emailing and calling your own Senator. If you do not know who that is, visit this link or reply to this email with your full address: http://geo.commissions.leg.state.mn.us/districts/start.html

Then continue to contact as many of the 67 Senators as you are able. For a list, please visit this link: http://www.gis.leg.mn/php/senate.php?Body=Senate

Naturopathic Doctor Registration Bill Update – May 13, 2008

The bill that came out of the Senate Finance Committee (HF 1724) is a much better bill than before.

MNHLRP wants you to know that the bill with the agreed upon amendments, as it came out of the Senate Finance Committee, is a good compromise. MNHLRP supports the bill without further amendments on the Senate floor.

Please call and email your Senator and let them know that this bill is ONLY ACCEPTABLE as it was passed by the Senate Finance Committee with the two amendments intact, one by the author, Sen. Torres Ray, and the other by Sen. Jim Vickerman.

The effects of the Vickerman Amendment are as follows:

The effective date of the legislation will be July 2009 instead of July 2008.

There will be a working group formed to develop recommendations and propose possible legislative modifications.

MNHLRP supports the actions by the Senate Finance Committee today on the Naturopathic Doctor Registration Bill! Specifically, we want to thank Senator Vickerman who made the motion, and note that he was strongly supported by Senators Dille and Fischbach.

The bill now proceeds to the Senate floor for their vote.

Thank you all for your hard work, dedication and patience.

Greg Schmidt, MNHLRP President
Victoria Welch, Board Member at Large
