Representative Tom Rukavina received the Minnesota Natural Health Legal Reform Project's Health Freedom Fighter award for his work in repealing the ban on payments to unlicensed practitioners who assist injured workers.  The 2009 Minnesota Legislature passed the repeal of the Work Comp Legislation, only to have it vetoed by Governor Pawlenty.

MNHLRP President Greg Schmidt presented the award to Representative Rukavina at a recent gathering in September.  "Representative Rukavina recognized that, although the Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI) presented this ban as a reform it wasn't a reform at all.  He listened to us and took action," said Schmidt.
